6 May, Kathmandu: The Metropolitan Police Range, Teku will be mobilizing 3,500 police personnel for the upcoming local level polls in the capital city.

The police personnel will be mobilized for 687 polling centres for the elections being held on May 14, Police Range’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chabilal Joshi said. “We are mobilizing the police at many polling stations in Kathmandu and at the sensitive locations,” Joshi confided, adding “We will also be mobilizing 2,700 volunteer police personnel apart from this.”

Joshi further added that Nepal Police will depute five regular police and five volunteer police personnel in each of the polling stations in Kathmandu and increase the number as per the necessity.

Kathmandu has KMC, Shankarapur, Kageshwori Manohara, Gokarneshwor, Budhanilkantha, Tokha, Tarkeshwor, Nagarjun, Chandragiri, Kirtipur and Dakshin Kali municipalities. RSS
