14 Dec-Kathmandu: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Prakash Man Singh, has said that the voters voted in the last Constituent Assembly election after assessing that a democratic constitution could be formulated only under his party’s leadership.

 

Inaugurating a party liaison office at Bijuli Bazaar under the Kathmandu Constituency No. 1 here on Saturday, he expressed the commitment on behalf his party to issue a democratic constitution within a year to establish the fruits of the past movements.

 

Singh said that questions raised over the fairness of the election were irrelevant as the election was held in a free, fair and fear-free environment. The NC general secretary, however, said that the dissatisfied side could voice their concern in the Constituent Assembly.

He called on all the political parties to focus their attention to writing a constitution within a year which is the priority of the nation at present.
