Khotang, June 5: The Armed Police Force (APF) has clinched the ‘First Khotang – Halesi Open International Karate Championship’ held at Dikktel of Khotang.

The APF won seven gold and two silver medals in the competition organized by Nepal Shito-Ryu Karate Association at Matikare ground.

The Tribhuvan Army Club won four gold, two silver and three bronze medals while Bhutan won three gold and 11 bronze medals to secure the second and third positions.

The organizers remained at the fourth position with two gold, seven silver and five bronze medals whereas India came fifth with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals, said Decision Team Coordinator, Rajendra Kapali.

The winner, first-runner up and second runner-up received Rs 50,000, 30,000 and 20,000 respectively in cash prizes along with trophies, medals and certificates.

Nepal Karate Federation’s Central Chairman, Dawa Gurung, conferred the prizes to the winners at the closing ceremony. RSS
