5 Nov-Surkhet: Almost all materials necessary for the second CA election have arrived in Surkhet district.

The District Election Office Surkhet said materials have arrived including ballot papers and ballot boxes for FPTP and proportional election. Enough ballot papers for 154,811 voters in Surkhet have arrived, said Section Officer at the District Election Office Surkhet Khemraj Acharya.

The district has three constituencies and 217 permanent and six temporary polling booths. Meanwhile, the voters education programmes have been run even on public holidays through deusi and bhailo programmes during Deepawali festival.

 Meanwhile, CPN-UML’s influential leader KP Sharma Oli who arrived here said the CA election will not be postponed in any circumstances. At a meeting with cadres, he said although efforts were made to bring CPN-Maoist and other parties in election it was not possible.

He stressed the need for UML to be the first party for a constitution and government with majority.

Leader Oli will also participate in the meeting organized by the CPN-UML Surkhet District Committee to seek solution in dispute in UML Surkhet.  The meeting started at the Manakamana Hotel this morning.

There is a debate for ticket in Constituency No. 2 in the district.  District Committee Vice Chairman Shiva Prasad Upadhyay has registered independent candidacy with dissatisfaction with party decision and campaign has been difficult for the authorized candidate as the debate has reached right to the village committee level.
