21 Sept-Kathmandu: Vice-Chairman of the CPN-UML, Bam Dev Gautam, has said CPN-Maoist’s plan to boycott the election to the Constituent Assembly would be provided suicidal to it.
But, he said if the Maoist party led by Mohand Baidya ensured participation in election, the CPN-UML was ready to hold the roundtable conference.
Inaugurating the second complete meeting of Press Chautari Nepal here today, Vice-Chairman Gautam said the communist parties boycotting election have faced downfall in the world, so the Baidya Maoist needs to participate in the election.
According to him, if the parties fail to hold the CA election, it would besmirch Nepal’s image. Federalism would be a pronounced agenda in the coming CA elections, he added.
“Only federalism is not the basis of the liberation of human being. Communists don’t have to limit themselves on it,” he reiterated.
Moreover, leader Gautam urged the Press Chautari to demand the constitutional recognition to the press. RSS
