The Thimi-based Madhyapur Hospital today launched a service for bone marrow treatment which is the first of its kind in the Bhaktapur district.

At a programme, the Hospital Management Committee Chairman, Gyan Krishna Shrestha, said that the hospital launched treatment for bone marrow, heart diseases and kidney ailments simultaneously. “This hospital has started bone marrow treatment which is the first of its kind in the district, now patients will not have to go to other places for bone marrow examination,” Shrestha said.

A medical team led by Hospital’s Medical Director and orthopedist, Dr Ram Krishna Shrestha and Dr Sikshya Prakash Shrestha will provide 24 hours service for bone marrow related treatments.

The Hospital also started services related heart disease treatment. A team of four specialist doctors will provide the service from 7 am to 7 pm. The treatment includes pre-surgery treatments including detection of heart rate and other heart related treatments.

Another specialist team of doctors will provide treatment for kidney ailments, it is learnt.
