Kathmandu, Dec 2: Nepal Democratic Sports Association Constituency No. 1 has feted Bimala Tamang, who won bronze medal in 17th Asian Games Competition held in South Korea, with cash prize.

At a felicitation programme organized here today by the Association, Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh, lawmaker Mohan Kumar Rai and Nepal Karate Federation Chairperson Purendra Bikram Lakhe jointly honoured Tamang with cash prize and a bunch of flower.

Tamang received cash prize of Rs 500,000. She was the only Nepali athlete clinching a medal in the ASIAD held at South Korean city of Incheon two months ago.
On the occasion, DPM Singh assured to enshrine agenda of sports development in the new constitution given it is an ornament of the country.

Honoured Tamang expressed confidence that she would move ahead with commitment to win gold medal in the next Asian Games. RSS
