27 Nov, Pokhara: Concerned authorities have identified security as first challenges to develop Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City as smart city, and stressed the need to equip the city with CCTV cameras for the same purpose.

Installing CCTV cameras will ensure security in a good way, they said at a programme organised on Sunday in Pokhara by Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Speaking at the event, Chief District Officer Tara Nath Adhikari said the idea to install the cameras would help reduce crimes.

Likewise, mayor of the Metropolis Man Bahadur GC said the plan to install the cameras would be executed in cooperation with concerned authorities and stakeholders.

President of the CCI, Pokhara Bishwo Shankar Palikhe informed that plans were afoot to install 500 CCTV cameras in the metropolis in the beginning, and it costs approximately Rs 50 million. RSS
