25 June, Kathmandu: A candle lighting ceremony was held Saturday evening on the premises of the Pashupatinath Temple, wishing for the restoration of peace in Darjeeling of West Bengal, India and its surrounding settlements.

People of Nepali-origin from Darjeeling and Siliguri of India currently available here and Nepali students who studied there were there at the Pashupatinath Temple to take part in the ceremony organised, wishing for the restoration of peace in Darjeeling.

A movement is currently going on in the hill town of Darjeeling for establishing an autonomous Gorkhaland. The candle lighting was organized wishing for eternal peace to those killed in course of the movement and a speedy recovery of the injured as well, it is said.

Three people were killed in police action in course of the movement. RSS
