June 5, Kathmandu: Chief Secretary Leelamani Poudel was awarded with Rs 75,000 for his role in Bagmati cleaning campaign, at a program organised to mark World Environment Day.
Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam gave away the award amidst a special program organized at Nepal Academy in the capital.
Poudel handed over the money to Meghalaya, an organization working for the conservation of rivers.
Simialrly, journalists Subodh Gautam and Madhav Aryal were also awarded with cash prize of Rs 25,000 for their contribution to environmental journalism.
Shanti Chaudhary of Kirtipur was awarded with Rs 1, 00,000 for her role on the environmental conservation.
