12 May, Kathmandu:

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today filed a corruption case at the special court against suspended UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Lharkyal Lama.

Lama has been accused of amassing around Rs 95 million illegally.

CIAA spokesperson Krishna Hari Pushkar said that CIAA has concluded that Lama accumulated the money by abusing his power of office as Lama has not disclosed his source of income yet.

Earlier, the CIAA had arrested Lama and handed him over to the police after seizing live bullets from his Durbarmarg-based Nepal Investment Bank locker no 414 during an investigation.
