30 July, Janakpurdham: Nepali Congress leader Bimalendra Nidhi has asserted that his party should take the civic polls scheduled for coming September 18 as ‘do or die’.

At the Province-2 level poll publicity special gathering organized by NC Central Publicity Coordination Sub-Committee at Janakpurdham on Saturday, Nidhi said that Nepali Congress should set the target to win 100 seats in the Province-2.

Though the NC and CPN (Maoist Centre) are committed to the constitution amendment, they are mooting different ideas to put the proposal to decisive vote as some of the political parties are still not trustworthy state in this regard.

NC central member and Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation Mahendra Yadav said that the civic polls in Province-2 was the matter of NC’s prestige.

Also speaking on the occasion, another central member Ananda Prasad Dhungana pointed out the need to prove ‘Madhes is Congress and Congress is Madhes’.

Publicity Sub-Committee Coordinator Ramesh Lekhak noted that the Province-2 was the foundation and centre of hope for NC.

At the programme, Nepal Press Union (NPU) President Badri Sigdel and NC Saptari President Dinesh Yadav stressed the need for all leaders and cadres to work in unison to emerge the party victorious in Province-2. RSS
