7 March,Birgunj, Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar has asserted that the government to be headed by the Chief Justice will conduct the fresh election for the Constituent Assembly within mid-June.
Addressing a news conference organised by the Madhesi Journalists Society Nepal here today, he said that intensive discussions were on among the parties for resolving the present problem and the election government led by the Chief Justice would be formed after concluding all the related tasks within a week.
“Although it is not appropriate to constitute a government under the leadership of the Chief Justice from the perspective of the principle of separation of power, the party system, democratic norms and values, the independence of the judiciary, constitutional provisions and the transitional political situation, the parties in the ruling coalition including my own accepted this option in the belief that the political stalemate would come to an end and election held, after the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML became positive on the proposal,” DPM Gachchhadar sai He further said that this government would immediately make way for a new one if the election was guaranteedDeputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Gachchhadar is also the president of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic).
He said his party is of the stance that the offspring of a person who has acquired citizenship on the basis of birth should be issued citizenship certificates on the basis of descent. He added that his party would have this demand met at any cost.
DPM Gachchhadar stressed that his party was for holding the fresh election to the Constituent Assembly within this mid-June as constitution guaranteeing identity and federalism would be ensured only through the Constituent Assembly. RSS
