Climate change has taken its toll on agriculture, water resources, tourism and biodiversity in the Gandaki River Basin, said a study carried out by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Nepal.
The pilot study was conducted in the area covering Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Chitwan districts.
The report was made public at a two-day workshop organised by the ICIMOD in the Capital recently to make concerned stakeholders and the affected locals aware of the risk of climate change, its impact and ways to combat it.
Meanwhile, speaking at the event, director of the ICIMOD Yeklabya Sharma talked about the impact of climate change in the area while stressing the need for preserving knowledge, practices and techniques adopted by the local people to fight climate change.
