Minister for Physical Planning and Transport, Ramesh Lekhak has said the government has placed constitution implementation and providing relief to the earthquake survivors as its priorities.

Speaking in the face-to-face programme organised by Reporters’ Club Nepal here today, he expressed the government’s pledge to move ahead on cooperation with the other parties on matters of national agendas like reconstruction of the country and maintaining peace, good governance and law and order.

He said the new government would get full shape soon, stating that the Nepali Congress would also select the names of representatives who would be appointed ministers from the party.

Making it clear the election of the local bodies was essential even for the implementation of the constitution, Minister Lekhak stated the government would gear up for formulating the necessary laws for holding the election.

He also stressed that the government was into the phase of executing the three-point agreement reached among the Nepali Congress, the CPN (Maoist Centre) and the Madhesi Front, describing the agreement historic and starting to leave a positive impact.

The Minister reiterated the need for cooperation, collaboration and unity among the parties for the effective implementation of the constitution.
