11 Sept, Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has reaffirmed his commitment to accelerate the hydro power project of national pride such as Budhi Gandaki.

Receiving a 12-point memorandum handed over by the Budhi Gandaki Hydro Power Project National Stakeholders Committee at the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today, PM Deuba reiterated that government was ready to resolve any issues relating to Budhi Gandaki hydro project.

“The government is conducting its study about the issues relating to the project. The project will pick up pace,” said Deuba, reaffirming his commitment for the earliest resolutions to the issues relating to the 1200 MW Hydro Project situated in Dhading and Gorkha districts.

Naya Shakti Nepal coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattari led the visiting team to the PM to submit the memo which demands among others to fix the compensation for the land of those to be affected by the hydro power project, especially in Arughat, Arkhet and Khahare Bazaar. RSS
