Kathmandu: UCPN-Maoist Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota has said the country had already headed towards elections, and those against election would face how public respond them.
At a regular press meet organized at party headquarters Koteshwor today, Spokesperson Sapkota said election would be held on time as all political parties were preparing for this.
He claimed that the leaders and parties standing against elections are gradually preparing for it.Similarly, Spokesperson Sapkota said as the election commission has guaranteed timely election, the parties had no alternative but to gear up for this.
There was nothing to object by the President in the parties’ recommendation on the appointments in the Election Commission, he said, adding that the officials in the Commission would be appointed in a day or two and follows the announcement of election date.
According to him, his party had already initiated the election process, holding central committee meeting which formed a committee to draft election manifesto and a candidacy selection commission.
Leader Sapkota made it clear that former chief secretary Lokman Singh Karki was recommended to the post of Chief Commissioner in the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority by all big four political parties.
Similarly, he said because the numbers of leaders willing to become central members of the party was very large, an intensive discussion was essential for this.
The federal democratic republican alliance would meet immediately after the central committee meeting of the party. The alliance’s meeting would prepare joint election manifesto, he added. RSS
