27 Nov, Kathmandu:

CPN (Revolutionary Maoist) on Friday held a demonstration in protest against the Indian government’s undeclared blockade at the border pushing the country on a brink of humanitarian crisis.

The rally which started from Shanti Batika in Ratnapark went through Purano Bus Park, Bhadrakali, Sahid Gate, Sundhara, New Road, Indrachowk and converged into a corner meeting at Ason.

On the occasion, the party’s Vice Chairman CP Gajurel complained over what he termed as the government’s lack of concern towards the sufferings of the people due to the prolonged blockade, strikes and agitations continuing for more than two months.

Another leader from the same party, Dinesh Sharma, called for unity against the blockade citing it was designed to weaken Nepali people. He further demanded annulment of Nepal’s all lopsided treaties with the Indian government and an end to burgeoning black market trading, inflation and corruption. RSS
