11 May, Lahan (Siraha): Diarrhoea epidemic that had spread in a Musahar settlement at Bariyarpatti rural municipality-1 in Siraha for the past one week has come under control, claimed health workers.

The waterborne disease had claimed one named Kabita, 10 years old daughter of local resident Ram Udgar Sadaya, while at least 10 others were taken ill.

After being informed of the epidemic, health workers had been dispatched to the affected area immediately and patients were treated by setting up health camps at a local school, said Chief of the District Public Health Office, Dr Chuman Lal Das.

“I myself reached the affected settlement and treated patients. Now the disease has been contained completely,” he said. RSS
