Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Development Prakash Man Singh today laid the foundation stone for the construction of BP-Ganeshman Memorial Building at the premises of Vishwa Niketan Higher Secondary School at Tripureshwor in the capital.

The construction cost of the five-room building is supported by M Asia Charitable Trust and Siddhartha Business Group of Hospitality. It was initiated by the Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) central committee under its school building construction campaign.

The total construction cost is estimated at Rs 1.5 million and the building would be quake-resistant.

DPM Singh said that the NSU should be oriented to reconstruct more other quake-resistant school buildings. He added that the MPs Development Fund would be utilized for the construction of the school building.

On the occasion, lawmakers Ashok Koirala and Ranjit Karna had expressed their views. RSS
