27 April, Chhatiwangaira (Gorkha): An acute shortage of drinking water has hit a Chepang settlement in the Gandaki Rural Municipality in the district.
The water sources near the village had gone dry after April 20, 2015 earthquake hit the area thereby creating water shortage in the community.
As many as 25 households of Chepang community now are compelled to fetch the drinking water from a far away source by spending some hours.
Neither the economically poor community is able to collect funds for installing generator to pump up the water from the Trishuli River that flows below the settlement nor any concerned bodies has initiated addressing their problem so far, locals complained. RSS
