23 August, 2015:

E-cigarettes or electronic cigarettes are found to be 95% less harmful than regular cigarettes. A report published in the UK, carried out by Public Health England (PHE) said so.

It has also been found that E-cigarettes not only is less harmful than regular cigarettes, but it may also be contributing to help fall the cigarette smoking rate.

But E-cigarettes are not totally risk free. Professor Kevin Fenton, Director of Health and Wellbeing at PHE explained, “E-cigarettes are not completely risk free, but when compared to smoking, evidence shows they carry just a fraction of the harm. The problem is people increasingly think they are at least as harmful and this may be keeping millions of smokers from quitting. Local stop smoking services should look to support e-cigarette users in their journey to quitting completely.”

If people who smoke regular cigarettes were to switch to e-cigarettes then the number of deaths caused by regular cigarettes is sure to drop, because the evidence according to the report is clear. Smoking E-cigarettes is much less harmful than smoking tobacco cigarettes. And with proper help, it helps to quit smoking as well.
