27 June, Kathmandu: The Election Commission (EC) has directed the Local Development Officers (LDOs) of Province No. 3, 4 and 6 to determine the number of the members in the District Coordination Committee (DCC) within three days.

The EC has also asked the LDOs of the districts having elections in the first phase to furnish the details to the EC by fixing the number of the members to be remained in the DCC.

A meeting of the EC held Sunday under the Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav issued such directive as per the Election Commission Act, 2073, EC’s spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma said.

As the existing federal law has not mentioned anything on summoning the meeting of the District Assembly, the EC has made such directive considering that process on the election of the DCC could not proceed until the number was determined after holding the district assembly meeting. RSS
