26 May, Kathmandu: More eight categories have been included in the ‘Global Nepali Film Award’ from this year with a view to promoting Nepali movies in an international-level.
Nepali Film Society organised a press meet here Thursday to inform about its decision to present the Award in more eight categories including ‘best music’, ‘best composer’, ‘best composer’, ‘best cinematographer’ and ‘best singer’ from this year.
With this, the Award that was established a year ago in Colorado of the United States of America will be presented in a total 20 categories.
The second edition of the award handover ceremony will be held in Colorado on coming August 18. On the occasion, Global Nepali Film Award Chair Nawaraj Shrestha said the promotion of Nepali films in the international market would eventually help push up domestic tourism sector.
Nepali cine artists Basundhara Bhusal, Sunil Thapa and Puran Joshi insisted that the state should increase investment for the development of the film industry. RSS
