20 Feb, Kathmandu: The Election Commission has proposed the government to hold local elections on May 14.
The EC took this proposal before the meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Singha Durbar on Monday.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal informed that government was announcing the local poll date and inquired EC how the government could help it to hold the election successfully.
Talking to media persons following the consultation, Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav said EC was ready to hold the election on the date it proposed before the government. RSS
