25 Sept, Lahan: Leaders and cadres now have been disappointed with the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal and Nepal Democratic Forum failure for failure to win even a single seat in the local election in Siraha district – the origin of the Madhes movement.

Mainly the disappointment has emerged when the RJP that was formed by integrating five parties in course of Madhes movement turned to be a complete failure in Siraha, the place where the Madhes movement was originated.

To the surprise, the RJP did not get victory in any of the local level out of 17 of the district. Siraha is the home town of RJP central leaders including Presidium member Rajkishor Yadav and Ram Kumar Mandal.
Even the locals have also expressed surprise for their failure of RJP in the district.

The dispute on ticket distribution and delayed decision to go to election are among other reasons for the failure of RJP, shared Satya Narayan Chaudhary, a local of Lahan municipality-8.

Besides locals, RJP leaders have admitted that the results were unexpected for them due to some serious shortcomings on the part of the party.

“We did not think of such bad results before the elections held”, said RJPN Siraha President Ram Bahadur Mahato.

Likewise, Nepal Democratic Forum also did not secure a single seat here. Though Forum Chairperson and Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar put his all-out efforts to make party a winner, all turned to be futile.

Nepali Congress, whioch won all four constituencies in the second Constituent Assembly elections, won only two local levels in the recent election.

NC supporters also said that the NC is also projected to be weak in Siraha district which is a home district of influential leaders like central Treasuer Sita Devi Yadav, former treasurer Chitra Lekha Yadav, Pradip Giri and Padma Narayan Chaudhary. Raju Biswokarma/RSS
