The 34th International Elephant Polo competition kicked off at the Gundrahi Community Forest at Amaltari in Nawalparasi district on Monday.

In the opening match, Nepal’s Tiger Tops defeated CIH Saint Pole America by 8-4 goals. In the second match, OA Sri Lanka defeated Tharu Tigers Nepal by 8-2 while in the third game EHF G Switzerland defeated Pukka Chukkas Australia by 9-5 goals. In the fourth match, The Rusti Cookers UK defeated The Trigresip Arabia by 7-5 goals.

Tiger Tops Hotel Administrative Manager Ram Singh Gurung said the four matches will be played on Tuesday. The Elephant Polo which started since 1982 at Meghauli of Chitwan is being played for the first time near the Tharu Homestay in Nawalparasi district.
