10 Oct, Kathmandu: Federation of Contractors Association of Nepal (FCAN) has demanded the government take action against the guilty in murder of its chairman Sharad Kumar Gauchan immediately.

Reaching at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar today, FCAN office-bearers asked Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to declare Gauchan as martyr, to take action against the guilty immediately and to guarantee their security.

They also requested the Prime Minister to make arrangement of security as other office-bearers of FCAN are too receiving threat from various phone numbers, said FCAN General Secretary, Ram Sharan Deuja.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba urged the entrepreneurs not to be afraid as the government was ready to provide security to them, said Deuja quoting the PM as saying.

Similarly, an emergency meeting of FCAN held on Monday decided to close all construction related works for three days as well as not to participate in tender for an indefinite period in the demise of Gauchan.

General Secretary Deuja said that they would not receive the body of Gauchan until the guilty are booked. Gauchan’s body has been kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for post-mortem.

The FCAN on Monday night visited the Home Minister and chiefs of security bodies and demanded to book the murderers. RSS
