Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has expressed the belief that the financial support provided by the national and donor agencies for quake survivors would be properly utilized.

Prime Minister Koirala expressed the belief while talking to representatives of different organisations, who were at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar this morning to provide financial aid to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief and Rescue Fund.

He said, “I am aware not to allow the misuse of the fund provided the different people and organisations in and out of the country for quake survivors.”

PM Koirala said he was committed towards good governance. He said, “I want transparency, accountability and friendship behaviour in all bodies of the government.”

Expressing the belief that the new constitution would be promulgated soon, the PM said the country would head towards the path of peace, stability and development once the country gets new constitution.

He said, “The country would make a great stride within 10 years.”

On the occasion, the Himalayan Bank provided Rs 20 million financial aid to the Fund for the relief and rehabilitation task of quake survivors.

Chief Executive Officer Ashok Shumsher Rana and senior General Manager Ejaz Gill of the Bank handed over a cheque equivalent to the amount to PM Koirala.

Similarly, Institute of Chartered Accountants Nepal provided Rs 2.74 million to the Fund. Likewise, Chancellor of the Sharada University, Noida, India, Pradeep Gupta handed over a cheque equivalent to Rs 2.7 million to PM Koirala.

The NGO Federation provided Rs 500,000 million financial aid, police of Nepali origin in Macau donated Rs 1.4 million, Nepal Academy of Music and Drama provided Rs 345,000 to the PM’S Fund.

Similarly, Pipalbriksha Cooperative, New Baneshwor, Diyalo Development Bank and Nepal Chhantyal Association provided Rs 125,000, Rs 400,000 and Rs 100,000 financial assistance to the Fund respectively. RSS
