Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has urged the government to maintain political stability and agitating Tarai-centric parties to follow democratic system.

While releasing a memoir titled Janatako Chhoro (son of common people) penned by former Chief of Nepal Army Chhatraman Singh Gurung in the capital city on Sunday, former President Dr Yadav urged agitating parties to find the solution from the parliament.

Dr Yadav reminded that he saved Nepal Army from political interference and added that Nepal Army always stood for the democracy.

The former president suggested President Bidya Devi Bhandari to take initiation to narrow difference between three big parties and the agitating Madhesi parties.

On the occasion, CPN (UML) leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said the Nepal Army never exhibited the behaviour that enfeebles democracy, for it always followed the democratic principles.

Commenting the book, Professor Lokraj Baral said the book helps to understand the Nepal Army organizational structure and the former chief Gurung’s efforts to reform and develop the organization.

The book comprises various decisions made by the then Army and the related political development of the period.

Similarly, former Army Chief and book writer Gurung termed the book as the document of his role during his tenure.
