26 Nov, Kapilvastu:

Federal Sadbhavana Party Chairman Anil Jha today said that the country may plunge into severe crisis and separatist movements may take place in the Tarai if the ongoing protest in the Madhes is not addressed at the earliest.

Speaking at a press conference organised by the Madhesi Journalists Society in Taulihawa in the district, Jha said that they wanted prosperous Madhes within the nation and that their demands be addressed. The party is in the United Democratic Madhesi Front, an alliance of Madhes-centric parties currently launching protest movement in the Tarai against the new constitution.

“We have adopted the vision of late leader Gajendra Narayan Singh about prosperous Nepal and prosperous mountain, hills and Madhes within the nation,” he said, adding however that they were forced to resort to protest due to the ‘policy of suppression’ of the government towards Madhesi people seeking their rights.

The event was also attended by lawmaker Dimpal Jha, central leaders of the Sadbhavana party Rabindra Mishra and Dr KP Sharma among others.
