31 July, Kathmandu: The government has decided to provide Rs 140,000 each to the families losing kin in the landslides occurred at Lumle and Bhadaure of Kaski district.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday took this decision, said Spokesperson of the government, and Minister for Information and Communication, Dr Minendra Rijal.

Informing that 25 persons were killed in the landslide at Lumle and eight at Bhadaure, Minister Dr Rijal said Rs 15,000 along with tent, tarpaulin sheets and resettlement would be ensured as immediate relief.

The cabinet meeting also passed the guidelines on operation and repair of vehicles used in the government offices, and on high-level foreign trip, and on the management of banquet and standards on receiving and providing souvenir by the public office-bearers under the Good Governance Management and Operation Act 2064 BS.

Similarly, the meeting appointed Moti Bahadur Kunwar as the Executive Director of Nalsinghgadh Hydropower Project Development Committee.

Khakendra Bahadur Bhandari has been appointed as the member of the Central Child Welfare Committee.

Furthermore, tenure of the probe committee headed by Hari Babu Bhattarai formed to investigate the alleged ill practices in medical education was extended by a month.

The cabinet meeting also appointed Rajesh Thapa as the General Manager of Cultural Corporation.

Likewise, the meeting has picked the recently-retired government secretary, Khumraj Punjali, as the Special Class Officer at Nepal Administrative Staff College. RSS
