Kathmandu, March 14: Minister for Energy, Radha Gyawali, has said the government is preparing to cut down the load-shedding hours soon.

Speaking at an interaction organized by Reporter’s Club here today, Minister Gyawali said the government is for reducing the load-shedding hours even if it is for household purposes keeping in mind the upcoming School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations.

Responding to a query from the journalists, she said, “The government has been also holding discussions with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and other organizations concerned for decreasing the power-cut hours though its priorities were for promulgating new constitution.”

She said the federalism with ethnic identity as advocated for by the Unified CPN (Maoist) and the CPN-Maoist was not possible for Nepali people gave clear majority to the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) to formulate a democratic constitution.

The government was for holding the local bodies’ election bringing the political parties including the UCPN (Maoist) into confidence, she summed up. RSS
