11 Feb, Bhimdattanagar: Minister for Energy Janardan Sharma today said the government has highly prioritized the need to hold local body elections when moving ahead.

At a press meet organized by Press Centre, Kanchanpur in Bhimdattanagar this morning, Energy Minister Sharma shared that the government has already made necessary legal and other preparations to hold the local level elections. He added that the government is making effort to forge consensus among the political parties.

“We are holding dialogues with the opposition parties in this regard,” he said, adding “All the parties must unite to drive the country forward on path of development after holding the local level elections.”

Stating that the local level elections are mandatory, Minister Sharma opined that the political instability will clear out once the elections are held.

On a different note, Sharma claimed that the Chameliya Hydro Power Project will complete within a few months and start running. He shared that the delay was caused due to ‘structural problem’.

“We are doing homework to advance all the hydro power projects from east to west,” the Minister said. He added further that the Energy Ministry is undertaking necessary steps to advance west Seti and Karnali among other hydro power projects. RSS
