18 May, Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has set coming May 25 as the date for hearing on the case of Nepal Police DIG Nawaraj Silwal.

The hearing was scheduled to take place today before an extended full bench including seven apex court judges. The hearing was postponed after it was found that one of the judges was related to DIG Silwal, according to the Court Spokesperson Mahendra Upadhyaya.

The apex court is hearing a writ filed by DIG Silwal against the appointment made by the government to the post of the Inspector General of Nepal Police.

The case was first scheduled to be heard on May 2, but it was postponed after an impeachment motion was registered against the Chief Justice just two days before. RSS
