2 May, Kathmandu: The main opposition CPN (UML) standing committee meeting monday has concluded that registering impeachment motion against the chief justice Sushila Karki was the extreme of capriciousness.
The meeting stated that the step was biased and unfortunate and was direct encroachment on the rule of law and independent judiciary.
A press statement issued by the party secretary and chief of publicity department, Yogesh Bhattarai, condemned the step of registering the motion and urged to withdraw it.
The press statement describes chief justice Sushila Karki as capable, dutiful and strong enough to deliver justice.
