9 August, Ratnanagar (Chitwan): A police investigation into the death of a 55 – year – old man has revealed a murder case.

Chitwan’s Superintendent of Police (SP), Deepak Thapa, said the investigation into the death of Hasta Bahadur Chepang, a native of the Ichakamana rural municipality – 1 of Chitwan, revealed that he could have been murdered by neighbours due to personal hatred.

Chepang’s lifeless body was found on August 5 at a corn field located in the same rural municipality. The investigation disclosed facts that Hasta Bahadur was killed by a group of local youths on the night of August 2.

The victim was strangled by a rope, beaten up and then thrown off a cliff, police said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Police have arrested Ramesh Chepang, 29, Sandesh Chepang, 19, and Dhan Bahadur Chepang, 30, in accusation of involvement in the murder. RSS
