3 September, 2015:

The rover sent on Mars continues to bring interesting new images. This time, the image captured was really surprising. It somewhat looks like a spoon floating in mid-air.

The image of the “floating spoon” as captured by Mars Rover

This image was captured on 30 August, which can be taken as a proof for those who believe in civilizations, ancient or intelligent life on Mars.

Whether we want to believe in life on Mars or not, but what we can believe in is the formation of those odd rock formations. The formation of those rocks are easily explained as partly by pareidolia, which is a psychological phenomenon that causes the mind to perceive meaning where it doesn’t exist, and partly by the unusual way the landscape of Mars has been formed.

According to the Discovery news, due to Mars’ thin atmosphere and weaker gravitational pull than Earth, wind can create more intricate and unusual structures. The huge variance of weather in Mars can create all sorts of bizarre and delicate formations, among which is the “floating spoon” we are seeing in the image.
