31 July, Kathmandu: Former prime minister and senior leader of the Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is in India visit, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter’s residence, 7 Race Course, New Delhi, Friday evening.

Leader Deuba paid a courtesy call on Indian PM Modi, said leader Deuba’s spouse Arju Deuba Rana to the National News Agency (RSS).

The issues of mutual interests and cooperation and Nepal’s recent political development were discussed during the meeting. Leader Deuba expressed gratitude to India for its immediate help for rescue and relief after the devastative earthquake and the assistance for reconstruction.

Similarly, he expected India’s assistance on the infrastructures of large investment development projects in Nepal.

On the occasion, Indian PM Modi expressed happiness over taking constitution writing to the final phase. He stressed that the constitution could be brought on maximum consensus.

He hoped that with the promulgation of the new constitution, Nepal would get peace, stability and development. The Indian PM also assured of assistance on the post-quake reconstruction in Nepal.

Earlier, senior leader Deuba had paid a courtesy call on Indian President Pranab Mukherjee at the latter’s residence, New Delhi.
