12 Nov, Kathmandu: The Leftist Alliance has taken exception to the attacks targeting its election candidates in the last couple of days.

Stating that rather than making the elections peaceful and creating a fear-free election environment, the Alliance said the government has not worked towards that. It termed such ‘criminal’ activities as deplorable and not worth forgiving.

The Alliance said that such activities with the intention of vitiating the election environment is not to be forgiven and drew the attention of the sides concerned to not carry out such anti-political activities.

Leaders of the Leftist Alliance, CPN (UML) chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN (Maoist Centre) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ aired these views in course of addressing separate election campaign rallies in Jhapa and Chitwan respectively today.

The Leftist Alliance leaders’ these comments come in the wake of attacks targeting the vehicles carrying alliance candidates in Rukum on Friday and Rolpa on Saturday. RSS
