7 August, Kathmandu: A lunar eclipse of around 1 hour 57-minute is occurring at 11:07 on wards on Monday night.

According to Nepal Calendar Determination Committee, the partial phase of the lunar eclipse will start at 12:06 am and would finish at 1:04 am in Nepal, said Chairperson of the Committee, Prof Dr Ram Chandra Gautam.

“The eclipse can be viewed from Nepal during which a black spot would be noticed in the southern side of shadow of the moon,” said Dr Gautam.

Consumption of food items during the eclipse is forbidden in the holy scripture except in case of children, ailing persons and elderly ones, said Dr Gautam, suggesting not to take food items after 2:07 pm tomorrow. RSS
