6 August, KATHMANDU: The government has given license to Maikhola Hydro power Project for power generation. The Electricity Development Department provided the license for constructing the project with eight megawatts within three years.

Information Officer of the Department Gokarnaraj Pantha said that Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company would develop the project situated in Ilam district. Pantha said that the construction company has been ordered to make financial management within this fiscal year.

The total cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 1.20 billion.

Likewise, the Department also provided survey license to reservoir based Tamor Storage of 200 megawatts. According to Pantha, the survey of the project should be completed within two years.
