Minister for General Administration Lalbabu Pandit has said the new constitution would be a people’s constitution and would be issued in a peaceful environment.

Speaking in a press meet organized by Press Chautari Nepal Udayapur chapter here today, he said the forthcoming constitution would be promulgated within the month of Saun (17 August) without any obstacles.

Minister Pandit, who is also the politburo member of the CPN (UML), said although the naming of the federal provinces was not possible at the time of promulgating the constitution, the delineation of the provinces is possible and all the parties are agreed on this so that the statute could be issued in a peaceful manner.

He also said the CPN (UML) would head the next national unity government immediately after the promulgation of the new constitution.

Referring to the fourth amendment of the Civil Service Act which was done at his special initiation, the Minister for General Administration stated that he has also brought the administration reform plan along with the fourth amendment to the Act.

“With this, the civil servants would become fully patriotic and dedicated to the service of the nation. If not, they will have to quit service,” he said, adding that he has launched the administrative reform campaign in the country for ushering in wider reformation in the administration and to discourage the civil servants from acquiring DV and PR of foreign countries while taking salary and benefits from state coffers.

He is also scheduled to hold meeting with the chiefs of the different government offices based in the district and issue them directives later today.

Minister Pandit arrived here on Saturday in course of monitoring the administration of various districts of the east. RSS
