29 Nov, Kathmandu: Minister for Health, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has today met with Dean of Institute of Medicine (IOM), Dr KP Singh, and agitating Dr Govinda KC. Dr KC has been staging hunger strike more than two weeks at the premises of the Teaching Hospital putting forth various demands including reforms in medical education.
On the occasion, Minister Thapa inquired about health of Dr KC. He said that he would hold talks with high-level political committee for the resolution of the problems.
Minister Thapa also assured to raise the issue again about the demands of Dr KC in the meeting of the council of ministers to be held today, said Dr Jeevan Chhetri, member of the talks committee from Dr KC side.
Similarly, Minister Thapa held talks with Dean Dr Singh regarding giving an outlet to the existing problems, according to the Minister’s Private Secretariat. The health condition of agitating Dr KC is deteriorating, it is learnt. RSS
