24 May, Dang: In a bid to help reduce the impact of climate change on agriculture, mobile phone sets have been distributed to 66 leading farmers of the district.

The beneficiaries will get information related to patterns and impact of weather and climate change on crops grown by farmers through agriculture apps.

The Agriculture Management Information System of the Department of Water Induced Disaster Prevention under the Ministry of Agricultural Development has handed out the gadgets. SIM cards and thermometers have also been distributed.

Talking to Rastriya Samachar Samiti, chief of the District Agriculture Development Office Dipak Kumar Sharma stressed the need for farmers to switch to modern technology for cultivating farming. “Now with this, farmers will get their problems related to agriculture resolved through mobile phones.” RSS
