2 July, 2015:

The Mount Everest base camp in Tibet which was closed after the devastating earthquake in neighborhood Nepal on April 25 has been reopened to the climbers.

The base camp of the world’s highest peak was shut down for security reasons following the 7.9-magnitude temblor that killed nearly 9,000 people, including climbers and guides, on the Nepalese side of the Everest.

Despite the reopening of the base camp, roads leading to the base camp will be subject to periodic traffic controls or remain closed, state-run news agency reported citing a spokesperson with the tourism bureau of Tingri County today.
