Biratnagar, Nov. 14: The Muslims in Biratnagar have demanded that Nepal should be declared a Hindu nation.

Speaking in a programme organized here today, leading persons from the community said that the Muslims would be protected only if Nepal was declared a Hindu nation.

A majority of the speakers at the Muslim assembly organized by National Democratic Muslim Organisation Nepal at Rani, Biratnagar expressed their views in favour of Nepal as a Hindu nation.

Central member of the organization, Mohammad Muslim Miyan said that the Nepali Hindus and Muslims have lived together in harmony since centuries but the leaders of the major political parties declared the country secular for party interests, thereby making Muslims insecure.

Cleric at the mosque at Rani, Maulana Ahamad, said that only a democracy that accommodates the interests of all including the king would be in national interest.

President of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP Nepal) Morang district committee Dambar Bahadur Karki said that the Muslims had also played a vital role in the unification of Nepal. RSS
