18 Nov, Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has condemned the IED attack targeting party senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel and people accompanying him near Nepaldanda of Bhanu Municipality- 10 in Tanahu this afternoon.
A pressure cooker bomb was thrown at a vehicle carrying leader Poudel and party cadres towards Palungtar of Gorkha from Tanahu. Leader Poudel, who is the NC candidate for the House of Representatives election from Tanahu constituency no. 1, was heading towards Palungtar from his hometown to address an election assembly of the democratic alliance at the time. His body guard has been injured in the explosion.
The NC has, through a press statement, demanded the immediate arrest of the guilty in the incident. Stating that the NC, the oldest party of the country, will not be derailed of its mission by such incident, the party termed the attack as a mockery of democratic norms and culture.
