9 Sept, Kathmandu: The Nepal Chemists and Druggists Association (NCDA) on Tuesday has expressed its serious concern towards the news reports in various medias regarding the shortage of medicines in various places in Tarai districts owing to the ongoing agitation.

Stating that it was sorrowful to see the short supply of such important life-saving drug in many parts of Tarai, the Association urged the agitating parties to be serious towards adverse consequences facing the human health in lack of medicines.

A press statement released by the Association’s Chairperson, Mrigendra Meher Shrestha, has also appealed all the sides concerned to facilitate the supply of medicine at the earliest.
“Pharmaceutical venture is not merely profit-making ventures. It is also a sensitive profession that directly concerns the public health,” reads the press statement.

The Association also urged the political leadership to guide the country towards development and prosperity, maintaining the long-standing mutual unity, goodwill and fraternity among the Nepali people.
