Nepal advances to victory sidelining Bhutan in under 23-year men’s tournament held under as part of the ongoing 12th South Asian Games (SAG).

In a first leg tournament held today at Guwahati of Indian Asam state on Sunday, Nepal thrashed Bhutan 5-0 and leveraged the possibility of getting the team into next round.

Striker Nawayug Shrestha trebled in the tournament while Bishal Rai ‘B’ and Anjan Bista made a goal each to cruise the team to victory.

Shrestha trebled at 33nd, 75th and 85th minutes. Likewise, Rai made a goal at 44th minute while Nepal’s another striker Bista added one more at 51st minute.

Bangladesh and Bhutan are in the team ‘B’ of Nepal. Likewise, host country Indian is grouped in ‘A’ where the Maldives and Srei Lanka are the part.
